China's congress scrapped presidential term limits from the constitution, a move that sets up President Xi Jinping to rule indefinitely and a sign it is returning to a one-man rule system.

Government censors on social media have cracked down on criticism of removing term limits, removing political memes and scrubbing mentions of words like "king" or "emperor."

Since 2013 when Xi Jinping came into power, he's consolidated his power through high-profile anti-corruption drives, a cult of personality and by amassing global influence through trade. He set out an ambitious vision for the way forward at the Communist Party's 19th Congress last October: for China to become a global superpower.

Is anyone shocked? Before Europe took off technologically 500 years ago, China used to be the center of...like...everything. What with population resources, what with natural resources.
The only natural resources that China lacks are modern ones, oil & gas.
I know there were the Romans but they were on par, not ahead of China. Romans led the world in architecture and other applied natural science fields while China led in agricultural technology for example.

Albeit the limit of freedom and lots of censorship, knowing his history and plans he have, long term plans at that, for China. He's an excellent supreme leader. Contrary to his neighbour.

Xi is fighting the corruption , so my wild guess is some of his opponents inside the communist party are trying to take him down after he retired , thats why he tried to rule for life . Well yeah he is a dictator but at least he is not like a tyrant , he got his plan and I believe China is in its right way.

 Please dont judge another totally different country with Western minds. US has no emperor in its history, but China has more than 2000 years of bureaucracy so its hard to change the most of them. Its so comlicated even I dont understand most of it myself. There is no better political system only the fittest. In my mind a leader of great country should be a respectable man, a strong man.

The best joke in my life is a president of a great country is sued by a pornstar. Of course ya can use "freedom" to defend yourselves

3:58 "The app has registered over a billion claps" Did your copy editor approve this? That's standard by any clicker game, bots included. The way you emphasize the BILLION making sound like some defining staggering number made this video's credibility dive significantly.  Every other point was fine, just weird you'd highlight the number, I get that its weird to have a nationalistic mobile app game to applaud the leader, but then again what games are there on appstores with political leaders that aren't?
