A new US Department of Defense report says that China is engaged in a vast military buildup to counter US hegemony and that the size of China’s naval power now exceeds that of the US Navy. Investigative journalist and “Boom Bust” co-host Ben Swann has the details. Then former US diplomat Jim Jatras joins Rick Sanchez to share his expertise.

German officials including Chancellor Angela Merkel now say that they have determined conclusively that Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny was poisoned by a nerve agent. Navalny is currently being treated in a German hospital where his condition is improving. RT’s Peter Oliver reports from Berlin.

Two Russian fighter jets intercepted a B-52 over the Black Sea, reportedly passing within 100 feet of it. Former US Air Force Lt. Col. Karen Kwiatkowski joins Rick Sanchez to share her insights. When stating the pentagon's budget, they need to net out "third party services." In other words, South Korea basically outsources its defense to the US and pays the US for the military presence, so that payment should be deducted from the Pentagon's budget. Do this for other countries, and we should whittle down the "Net US Defense" number to what the US Taxpayer actually invests. There may be another adjustment in terms of global naval supremacy - in other words, savings from not having to run flotillas, etc.

Most important comment is at 10:02.  "If war really broke out everybody knows those aircraft carriers would be gone in the first 5 minutes"  i.e. the rot that demonstrates itself in the handling of Covid19 is also endemic in Defense procurement.  China's $180B Defense budget is probably easily as effective as the USA's $740B.  China doesn't have boondoggles like the JSF and doesn't build unsurvivable carriers for show.    If this war goes hot the USA will be in trouble.
