After 30 years of reform and opening up, China was faced with 3 problems.

1st –  huge foreign exchange trade surpluses

2nd – huge overcapacity of construction materials and engineering companies

3rd –  access to the world restricted to her east coast through the China Seas, where the US had built 180 military bases to encircle China.

To convert these problems into opportunity, in 2013, in Kazakhstan, Xi Jinping announced the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), the largest infrastructure project in history, the first phase of which was 10 times the size of the Marshall Plan in Europe after the Second World War.

One party system doesn’t mean it doesn’t have democracy. One party makes longer term strategy for the country than four years election system which shows the flaws right now. The politicians are only focus on winning the election and have no time to think about reforming the system. Democracy? Even now we Americans are still debating wearing masks.

Western democracy has a real problem of leaders only planning for the next election, and having the fate of the country being decided by not necessarily the brightest of minds.

An authoritarian state however, has the real risk of one bad leader to bring about huge ruin. Although a benevolent dictatorship in the hands of competent leaders can be highly effective and efficient, chaos will follow a dipshit leader.

Perhaps there is a way to take the best of both worlds

Land ownership became public after CCP took over. It makes infrastructure development and mega projects far easier and efficient to build.  China imperial exams in the ancient past have huge influence on today's meritocracy system and education system. Such exams provide opportunity for social mobility.  Deng Xiaoping opened CCP's mind to learn the merits of the West methodology but customize it according to China's own culture and reality.

American two party system is one of the most tyrannical system ever developed. When one party wins, for example the Republican party, it totally imposes its own will, its own rules and laws, and its own agenda, over everyone, no matter how much the Democratic party may complain. What is more tyrannical than that?  Even the American Founding Fathers has spoken of this problem, that the system they have created makes the voting minority subject to the tyranny of the majority.
Hence, they tried to fix that by creating the Electoral College, to allow the minority a greater voice in selecting government officials, but the system has been so perverted that it allowed the American minority, like white people, to impose its sovereign will over the majority of the people.

Great video so nice to see a positive presentation of China. When I was a young man a wise old told me to you know communism is really capitalism therefore capitalism is really communism. Them wise words i understand now. All political systems are only about control and to up hold the statue quo. America per capita has more poor people then China and with all america's un fair advantage etc....petrol dollar reserve currency and there natural resources and there military along with CIA. They don't invest in poorer country they take. China is investing with infrastructure. God bless China even with there faults they are still the lessor evil of the political systems. This is the Asian century. So America has democracy the 2 parties system they are all war monger neo cons. China has 1 party rule and build not bomb trade not take.
