The US has imposed a 400 percent tariff on Vietnamese steel. Jock O’Connell of Beacon Economics joins Rick Sanchez to weigh in. He points out that manufacturing costs in China continue to increase anyway and so companies are moving to countries like Vietnam and elsewhere and that “this can’t be stopped” but that the volume of steel exported from Vietnam to the US is so small that tariffs won’t likely have an impact on the US steel industry.
