Despite ongoing changes in the world's second-largest economy, China continued to prosper, and growth reached 6.3 percent in the first half of 2019. As China's trade rises, especially with major trading partners other than the United States, how will that affect the world economy, with many economies suffering from global trade tensions? What are the challenges and potential in China's continuing transformation and further opening-up? And how will China position itself as it tries to stimulate a more dynamic global economic pattern?

China's economy still has at least another 40 to 50 years of progress. China's domestic market already the world's largest is still an untapped potential. China is in the process of transforming herself from an export driven economy to that of domestic consumption models practiced by all high income industrialized countries. It would take time and many adjustments. Just like a car, a shift in gear would cause some discomfort and a slowdown in speed but after that it's smooth riding all the way!

Yes, I wonder as mentioned in the video about how China will deal with exponential growth of automation such as robotics and AI. I think most countries will have to introduce something like a universal basic income during a transition period over some decades into a new kind of world.

By limiting external markets to their stock, China ensures their population is used well to consume their own products without interference from external elements. The US on the other hand is all open and external elements have access to their market.

It depends on the next generation. East Asian culture is like always depending on their parents generation. So it’s destined that the boom economy won’t last long

The US needs 2 Trillion dollars worth of spending on its worn out infrastructure and they are ignoring it because they have no money, they have about 100 Trillion in overall debt, I really think that the US should concentrate on fixing it's own house rather than trying to disrupt the world economy.
