Connectivity is the road to prosperity and China is creating it also for the less developed countries around the world. China is building a community with a shared future for humanity.

Nice presentation yet I see the BRI slightly differently. I compare the project to the great railroad projects that united Canada (The last Spike) and the massive American quest to build railroads all the way to California . Remember that at the time the railroads were the greatest economic drivers that fostered the creation of many Cities and a myriad of industrial industries. China is in the process of repeating this feat but within a larger landmass that has the potential of generating more wealth than the North American model. The danger that exists is the creation of another 'Robber Baron Class ' of criminals; if the Chinese and Russians can avoid such an outcome the project will be a global success even for the 99 per cent.

Capgains. China is a export economy. Most goes via containers. They don't want to be in the same boat as the Russians and have US sanctions ruin their economy. This is a backup if US/China relations go south. They can still export it just will cost more. Same reason the Germans connected the Rhine and Danube.

This is nonsense. It's many times cheaper to ship it. The only reason they're doing this is to avoid the US total control of the seas.

More than just interconnecting road for progress, the road china can transport easily its armies to any nation they want to attack, so America must be able to see from the sky whether their trains are carrying civilians or soldiers in civilian clothes. Chinese are clever now a days, all rival economies of the world must take precaution for safety.
