Could it be that Boris Yeltsin was a patriot? Sure – he was a terrible president, put in charge with the help of American advisers. However, he was new to “democracy” and could have naively believed in the good intentions of the West. After all – his biggest legacy is leaving a young Vladimir Putin in power, which worked out rather well.  Make sure to watch to the end to see more or less genuine statements about Yeltsin’s own failings. Note – the last outtake is from one of my early videos, the subtitles are much too large as I was only learning the programme 😊
