I once read that Paganini wrote most of his works on his guitar, unlike many composers on the piano, is this right, anyone? I know his works for the guitar is prolific, as the whole repertoire is performed by most guitarists from all over the world.
BTW.
I also had difficulty to find Tretyakov's Paganinis or other works in Canada when I arrived in 1968.
I had luckily brought his Concerto 1 of Paganini by V. Tretryakov, bought in 1966 when living in Ffm, W. Germany,
until it was so scratched by the needle, I had finally given up on listening to it.
Presently with YouTube I can again listen to his uniguely amazing performance. Superlative and ever interesting.
I think until now I his is the most enjoyable to listen to, more than all the other performers for this Concerto.
