China has chosen to court Taiwan by economic, political ties and benefits over war. Do not underestimate the political clout China possess in the decade to come.

China plans to first shake Taiwan's hands, then exchange business cards, and when the time is ripe, China will offer an unbeatable contract and buy out Taiwan.

Culturally they are both Chinese people. It will be checkmate for USA when China, Taiwan, Japan, and Korea become united.

As a citizen of China, I don't want wars against any states and I believe many have the same idea. I don't care about the unification of Taiwan. If Taiwan wants independence, Taiwanese people need to calm down and come out a solution or strategy against China. Not riots or propaganda or fights in between with your own parties all day long since Taiwan you don't have much time to do that. THINK and DO it. I don't hate nor support the governments of China and Taiwan.  Just fed up with hatred people writing disgusting comments and spreading hates on people!!!  PEACE OUT 👋!!

LOL. Thats a fast NO from LKY on the American intervention question compared to the entire interview. Which shows how obvious question is, but still many Taiwanese believes that US will come. Thank God that KMT didn't win the Chinese Civil War, China may never surpass US under KMT.
And why would it benefits China that KMT wins the election? Taiwan's GDP is only 1/5 of Shanghai's GDP, with the same population.  Theres no need to use military force on Taiwan, when China becomes a superpower, Taiwan will come back himself.

TBH Taiwan is just not terribly important to the US. Should there be a military conflict, the gain on helping Taiwan is far less then the loss on antagonizing mainland China. LKY is absolutely right.

Considering that Taiwan IS part of China, then of course US military involvement in Chinese affairs will naturally invite Chinese military strike on US.

The Chinese have already set the stage where Taiwan is generally accepted as not an independent country.
In fact, Taiwanese themselves already and long ago set the stage of 'one China' when the 'rebels' fled the Mainland and then claimed Taiwan as representing China.
If Taiwan was China back then, the surely Taiwan IS STILL China to this day.

And so, American military involvement in Chinese affairs would be self-destructive for the USA.

I think it is ridiculous China still wants Taiwan back... There is peace and prosperity now with an independent Taiwan. Why mess that up and even attempt to take it back? China will put the entire Asia Pacific into panic.

Will Korea be next? Will Malaysia be next? Will Japan be next? Will Thailand be next? If China wants to claim Taiwan as their own, they are basically claiming Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, and etc their own.

They've already pissed off Taiwan, Japan, Philippines, Korea, Malaysia with their island disputes.

Yes, USA will react, will start selling taiwan fighter jets, submarines, all sort of weapons that USA no longer need, so taiwan have something to defend themselves.

Taiwan is part of mainland China. Period. Today Chinese and Russian military weapons are not the same Cold War era type.
