A Blessed Virgin Mary statue comes alive. This is a true story told by St Alphonsus of a Virgin Mary statue moving. There are many who claim they've caught on video a miracle, a weeping statue, a statues moving, a weeping Mary or Jesus. Can and do such miracles happen? A Blessed Virgin Mary statue comes alive is an incredible claim. Yet this is exactly what St Alphonsus a doctor of the Church wrote about.

St Alphonsus writes of a story told to him about a young man’s devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, who lead a dissolute life, but maintained a simple devotion of reciting daily a “Hail Mary.” It was this devotion to Our Lady the saved his soul from eternal ruin but also saved his physical life. It was this simple devotion to the Blessed Virgin which also resulted in an amazing miracle of a statue moving, which changed the course of his life.
On the way to the place of his execution, this young man passed by a statue of Mary and recited his prayer, “Blessed Virgin, help me at the hour of my death.”
St Alphonsus writes, “Whereupon the statue, in the full sight of all, bowed its head and acknowledged his greeting. With that, he expressed the desire to kiss the feet of the statue. At first the guards would not allow it, but they finally gave in when the people began to raise a clamor. As the youth was bending down to kiss the feet, Mary reached down and took him by the hand, holding him so tight that it was not possible to pry him loose. On seeing this miracle, everybody began to shout, “Mercy! Mercy!” And mercy was granted him. He returned to his home and led a model life, always very devoted to the Blessed Virgin, because she had freed him from both temporal and eternal death.”
The first of many thought, after hearing this story, would be scepticism. But may I remind your of the truths of the Catholic faith. We believe in God of miracles. We believe in a God who parted the Red Sea. We believe in a God who feed his people with food from heaven. We believe in Jesus Christ, His only son our Lord. Who walked on water, calms storms, healed the sick, and raise the dead. And who rose from the dead Himself. It is this Jesus who said, “the one who believes in me will also do the works that I do and, in fact, will do greater works than these,” (John 14:12)…
If the one who believes in Jesus will do his works, how much more will Mary His mother do, who not only believes in her son but has perfect faith. So do we believe that the miraculous is possible through Mary’s intercession. The Catholic faith demands it!
St. Alphonsus calls Mary omnipotent. Jesus is omnipotent by nature, but Mary is all powerful by grace. Why? St Alphonsus says, “she is omnipotent because she obtains by her prayers whatever she wishes.”
Saint Bernardine of Siena says, “At the command of Mary, everybody obeys, even God.”
St. Alphonsus responding to this says, “Saint Bernardine of Siena is not afraid to utter this sentence, (Because), God grants the prayers of Mary as if they were commands. And so Saint Anselm addresses her, saying: “Our Lord, O holy Mary, has exalted you to such an extent that by his favor all things that are possible to him should be possible to you!”

Many years ago when my father was still alive, he used to suffer from bad migraines, and one day I was at his house when he was in such pain with his headache. I felt so bad for him, I went into the spare bedroom and started to pray the rosary for this intention that his headache would leave. Before I was finished he came into my room suddenly and said, “ Darling the most amazing thing has happened my headache is completely suddenly…And before he could say “gone “ and finish his sentence he saw that I was praying for him, and he knew instantly it was an answer to my prayer from our blessed virgin mother Mary. Daddy hugged me and thanked me in tears!

My mother had great devotion to the Blessed Mother, and she passed this on to her children, so I am forever grateful for that. For with God Nothing is Impossible.

Amen! Alleluia! Sadly our sacramental life has been taken from us. In my country our churches have been closed again for the past four months. No Eucharist and no priest available to hear confessions or bless our water, salt or oil. Clinging to Our Lord, the rosary and online Mass and Adoration. I pray Lord it is enough. 😢🙏🏼❤

We experience a lot of daily miracles in our mundane life like winning a lottery, getting a job appointment out of many more qualified people, etc. But I think God is very open to giving us miracles especially when our salvation is at stake. And I think being devoted to Mary is a very underutilized ingredient to being closer to God. Thank you Ken, Alphonsus is canonised now so I have no doubt the veracity of that story. Truly inspiring!
