Agreed, Dr. Wolff “we can do better than capitalism” and I think starting with the democratization of the work place is a great idea!

A great man. Great man. If more academic people would have the will and the need for truth..if only. But professor Wolff is a gem in the swirling pile of "oh the good old days (that never were)" - type of rhetoric and economist hellscape of "look at the numbers and thing how much of these numbers you could have in your pocket." Type of thing.

Capital always flow toward cheap labor.
Labor is a commodity. Nobody wants to pay more if they can pay less.

Extreme capitalism is feast or famine. Boom or bust. Growth or recession. Most of it are engineered. 1929. 2008.

PROFESSOR WOLF IS GETTING TOO THE CHOSEN FEW.....! , that man in the audience , shouting out. He sounds like a subversive try to quell the pesants, and stop the truth from coming out trying to cover the ears of the people so they don't hear ! . I hope someone put him out of the room so we can hear sense and what to do to put right that's wrong for everyone and the planet . Go prof wolf speaking truth too fact.

I can't for the life of me figure out how Richard has yet to create a worker owned business, if not to create a movement that helps to prove the possibility and success in democratization of business. Actions always speak louder than words. With his connections he make this happen and drive a ton of interest given his following.

What is the answer capitalism?
The answer is a taboo word in the United States (US). It is socialism. Capitalism and democracy are incompatible. Socialism and democracy are compatible. This is why the 1% of US citizens have made socialism a bad word! The 99% of us must wake up, and insist that the US become a real democracy. The 1% will fight us, so expect to engage in permanent resistance now tomorrow and forever. Capitalisms is a racket!

"Capitalism is unstable, capitalism is unequal and capitalism is undemocratic." Woah! As a statement, that is pretty damning. And, we only have the evidence of repeated history and our own eyes as proof of the truth of that statement.

How about "dangers of socialism," because, you know, there's no examples of those... The fact is that it's not really about the system name, it's about how people operate. No matter what system you have, if corruption gets to high, bad things happen.

Please, please, please let us move forward to a democratization of the work place now. I’m so sick of being at the mercy of sociopaths who deserve no respect. There is a better way & don’t let bullying assholes tell you any different.

QUESTION If you took half of the assets from the richest and distributed it among the "lesser classes" could the planet sustain the esulting increase in consumption?

Unions have some influence. Unfortunately, many of their leaders are in league with Neoliberal Democrats at the DNC. Most of these people don't like Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, or other politicians trying to reform the national party corporate ideology.
