For the sake of the world, we need more intellectuals like them, and not lunatics. 115 Y H Y H 6 months ago China's mindset and strategy are less prone to wars and more sustainable for human kind. 61 Humgarchaun Lor Humgarchaun Lor 8 months ago “we lie, we cheat, and we steal.” said Pompeo. Snowden: “we already knew it.” Foreigners in China: “it's time to make a video to reveal it.” 59 Y H Y H 6 months ago (edited) Sachs is spot on, China's rise has caused anxiety among American elites....... the biggest risk is that the people who know nothing have power. 15 Isiah Steele Isiah Steele 8 months ago This is a great start. Getting down to diplomacy and discussing the facts and respecting diverse opinions. A cold war benefits no one. Peace benefits all!!! Great panel. Great program!!! 33 Luke Serna Luke Serna 8 months ago We need to leverage our great platforms of YouTube and other social media venues to spread the dialogue and arguments regarding multilateralism and failed US foreign policy. This is public information that we should all be able to listen to and think about. Just beware of corporations such as Google censoring the ability of a wide range of voices to be heard. Gray Zone, Mint Press News, and a host of other great independent media need to assist in getting information out to the public. Our mainstream corporate media is a failure. 33 刘飞井 刘飞井 8 months ago There are more than 100 reasons for China and USA to cooperate in front of the pandemic. 81 fan lin fan lin 8 months ago 张教授 先赞再说哈哈哈哈 33 Dzogchen Yogi Dzogchen Yogi 1 month ago The US needs an enemy to play its zero sum games and a target to project its shadow upon. China seems to fit the bill perfectly becomes it slots into a ready-made political demonology : it is both the Red Menace and the Yellow Peril, and therefore the sum of all American nightmares. Of course, only a psychiatrist can make sense of all this. 4 Aunt BB Aunt BB 8 months ago Did Jeffrey Sachs apologize to the people of Russia for helping to destroy the economy of their country in the 1990s w/his "shock therapy"? 32 Z'hou Yuehui Z'hou Yuehui 8 months ago Jeffery Sachs seems to be one of very few western scholars who see the world as it is, not the one as westerner wants to see. 24 Raymond Foo Raymond Foo 8 months ago Finally getting a chance to listen to sensible minds. I hope most would come to their senses and live in harmony in this globalized village. Thank you and God bless! 10 showshyan Kao showshyan Kao 1 day ago I am so encouraged by this dialogue between these 2 scholars. They said what I have been thinking as an American voter. US needs political reform; right now the 2 parties have become two ferocious animals competing for food (votes)by all means, willing to disregard truth and integrity, and the voters have no other choice besides the two. But, adding another party will not solve the problem either. Given the fact that the ignorant and unprincipled former president still holds his party ‘s and a big chunk of American voters’ ardent support , I don’t see much light for America to lessen the effect of the cancer of domestic division, and maintain her role as a positive force for good on the global stage. 1 y xiao y xiao 8 months ago Forget about ideology, it’s all about economics. The shock therapy was a great success, for the west to reap the benefits of the Cold War. 9 William Tseng William Tseng 8 months ago How can the US be the "God's state" if it has the worst leaders and is unable to even contain Covid-19? If that is the case, is Covid-19 also a gift of God to the US for your inability to even confess many wrongs you have done in the world? 8 Wilson Luy Tan Wilson Luy Tan 8 months ago There are to kind of people with regarding views of China: those who have not been to and those who have been to China. 16 Raf Zam Raf Zam 1 day ago (edited) THE MAN WHO SAVED THE WORLD by not following his Soviet Submarine Captain's order to launch a nuclear torpedo during the Cuban missile crisis is Vasili A. Arkhipov. Thanks to him we still have a world to live in, as mentioned by Jeffry Sachs in the interview. Search it online to get the full story in PBS. YuTub doesn't let me put the link. AK Li AK Li 8 months ago Cooperation is the key however, the US democratic government serves the interests of top oligarchs and corporates and not about the needs of its people. Need to remove Trump and Pompeo first. 4 Sword Sword 8 months ago Dr Sachs is a well respected economist who has the plight of impoverished as well as ordinary people around the world at heart. 16 Kwong Wong Kwong Wong 8 months ago Well said by both speakers and compelling. Hope the relationship between the two great powers on this planet will be improved with a view to achieving the well being of the people of both countries and other countries in the world. Cooperation rather than Antagonism should be adopted between these two great powers to achieve this goal. 8 Kc Chan Kc Chan 1 day ago A very timely and objective article on the dynamic of the new world order.
