We used to think that the US-China competition was mainly about economic leadership or military primacy in the western Pacific. Clearly, it's a competition of systems as well. In this video, we answer the following: 1) What is China-US rivalry is all about? 2) Why technology is a key flashpoint in the US -China relationship? 3) What can we learn from history when it comes to US-China competition? One thing is sure: China-US competition will remake the international system. For the two great powers, everybody else will be the objects of their strategies, continually called upon to make choices in favor of one or the other. After all, the China-US competition is all about us. Links to our books: https://www.amazon.com/David-S.-Ouala... Subscribe to our channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5PW... Humanity is humanity”. 7 ray ray 10 hours ago Chinese culture is the combination of 儒-释-道. The common ground of 儒-释-道 is that one need to face oneself with self-discipline. Then you may wonder how Chinese leaders discipline themself? 格物、致知、诚意、正心、修身、齐家、治国、平天下 are the subsequence of self-discipline. That’s why China thinks every country should find a way that work for themself. And equality(平) is the final station of politics. To get to that final station, one need face oneself with self-discipline. 8 Rocky Yap Rocky Yap 12 hours ago The moral of the story if you can't win em... join em. Be friends. There is no benefits to be enemies. Accept China's growth and grow together with them. China growth will only benefits the world. Stop being jealous instead be proud that this country is growing and also able to help other countries to grow too with the belt and road initiatives. 125 Helen Harmony Helen Harmony 12 hours ago I think It’s a good thing that China has one system only. A strict system is necessary to control and unite it’s 1.4 billion people. Imagine what would happen to the population 4.5 times bigger than US being ruled like the west. Sometimes having too much freedom is not good. 84 Beware of the Leaven of the USA Beware of the Leaven of the USA 12 hours ago China wants it to belong to everyone instead of the hegemonic USA. 67 dragondescendant1 dragondescendant1 12 hours ago (edited) Many people tends to forget business relationship between US and China, is based on sharing technology, when Deng Xiao Ping allows China open up for foreign investments. It is appalling to hear many nowadays including some US politicians keep accusing China stealing technology. Companies have a choice not to be in China if they don't want to, but they know it is not wise to walk away from 1.4 billion potential customers in China. 27 john lee john lee 6 hours ago Do you think it is safer for an ordinary Chinese to travel around United States or an ordinary American to travel around China? So, which country actually has more human rights? Americans love to compare its ideology with Chinese reality. In reality, the West is the greatest abusers of human rights, just ask Iraq. 13 Gun Sum Wong Gun Sum Wong 11 hours ago I think the title actually means the 21st century belong to nations who work hard and not the ones who print more dollars. 25 Shifu Ugincii Shifu Ugincii 9 hours ago (edited) In China they say win the hearts & minds of the people coz those don't change (MinXin) But if you focus on public opinion, that changes everyday(MinYin)
