Cambridge local authority should be wise enough to not let the Americans interfere. Over 100m Americans are living in poverty because it is run by the oligarchs. We have to look after number and ignore the Trump administration. I am always proud of Cambridge University: always able to bring out the best of the students there!! Simple really. The US doesn't want any form of any competition, & secondly its arrogant as it may sound,  its also about protecting US national interests, but also its about domestic US politics. Using China as the card here, just as Russia was used for the same reason back in 2016. Just as Iran issue was used as a domestic political point in domestic politics in US. US always uses other countries as scapegoats in their politics to pander to their voters, its always been like this for decades. For a very long time their enemy was Russia, then Iran, then China, then North Korea, then Russia again, then North Korea again, then for a while it was Iran, then back to China. US always needs a boogeyman in order to justify their own actions, which have bordered on violating other countries sovereignty, violating international law, violating their own agreements with other countries, violating international laws on human rights. So for all these talking points US accuses other countries of committing, the American government violates them at their own free will, & does so arrogantly whilst lecturing other countries for all kind of violations, but not only that, US even threatens to sanction any country that defy the US interests at the expense of the targeted countries, doesn't sound much to me like a free market that the US preaches to the rest of the world when one country USA can dictate to other countries who they can & can't do business with & this is just insane, disgusting arrogance, a disgusting level of hypocrisy by the American government, who seem to think they can lecture other countries about democracy, freedom, human rights, international laws. If the US cannot abide by any of those rules, the US government therefore has no business lecturing other countries on how to run their country. The US cannot even deal with CV19, let alone H1N1 which everyone knows was a total disaster that affected well over a million people world wide, and even to this day, no other country says squat about H1N1 to US, hell, we should all call H1N1 The American virus then. All these stupid pro Tump supporters claiming it came from Mexico just proves how racist America has become under Trump. You look at how Trump treats all those economic migrants from Mexico, they get treated like bloody animals in a cage, that's Trumps version of human rights, as opposed to how HK treats human rights. I am so sick of seeing all these uneducated people making all these baseless accusations, racist comments about a country, they have NEVER even been to. Huawei decided that use its financial investment (400m pound) on R&D in the UK that eventually produce products that benefit both nations.  Huawei the leading tech/comm company in R&D funding compares the US/UK tech/comm based companies.  I believe UK academia/UK corporations like the idea but UK politicians may have different tune depends on their stand on the left or right-wing party. If Huawei is a real threat to US , then similarly Ericsson n Nokia are also  threats to US communication technology as they are also not American firms.
