Germany's chancellor, Angela Merkel, and China's premier, Li Keqiang, held a video conference on Thursday during which they discussed the COVID-19 pandemic and measures to boost bilateral relations, especially trade. The two leaders agreed to cooperate robustly, despite the worldwide disruption brought about by the coronavirus crisis.

In time of crisis especially, China is obviously the economic engine that can pull the world economy out of crisis.It’s up to US to decide to drown , but it shouldn’t expect from others to join in mass suicide. Lol

It is a fact that China has managed to lift more than 700 million people out of poverty (1). This is more than the complete EU population while poverty in Europe is growing at a rapid pace (2) just like in the USA (3). This shows that the capitalist systems in the West are flawed and only benefit a small elite class. If this trend continues there will be great social upheavals, the beginnings of which we are witnessing at the moment. As the USA as well as Canada and Australia appear to be losing access to the Chinese market, the opportunities for the EU grow. And if the poverty trend is to be halted and reversed there is no choice but to `play ball` with the Chinese.

One of the things that may be heaven-sent, is that, in The US, even the most obtuse among us, know that we have been totally unprepared for any pandemic. I am hoping that Congress, instead of hiding its head underground, that MEDICARE FOR ALL IS ACTUALLY ENACTED BECAUSE IT IS THE ONLY WAY TO BE PREPARED FOR PANDEMICS. The other lesson comes by way of protests that have erupted all over the country. I am hopeful that the privatization of prisons, The vigilante slavery-era law enforcement can be reviewed and reformed as a way to deal with racism in America!! When I first saw Confederate statues throughout the United States, I concluded that European Americans were proud of their plantation system. That happened 60 years ago. Christopher Columbus is a symbol of slavery. All of these statues should be placed in a holocaust museum that condemns colonialism and slavery!!

It's great to see Europe and China closer than ever. As they say - A friend in need is a friend indeed. Europe helped China when it was down during the initial crisis and after that China returned the favor when Italy and Spain were badly hit. And now that both China and Europe are recovering, they are even increasing their cooperation. As predicted, the Eurasian Alliance is gradually forming while a certain backward empire is falling behind, further isolating itself from the rest of the world.

Good to see dialogue between European Union and China. Positive news for the world in crisis after pandemic. Good to hear Europe is for China investments and China for Europe investments.Thank u CGTN for providing viewers positive news about Europe and China Alliance in this world where USA try to dictate every country what to do as such US is the boss of the world.
I think the time of mutual respect of culture, ideology, domestic and international politics of every country in the world should be taken into account when dealing with each other between countries.
The idea of bossing around is over and not appropriate for a

Notwithstanding China’s huge labour force, its purchasing power parity adjusted average monthly wage has been growing at a compounding rate of 10.5% over the last 4 decades to US$2,200 in 2019.
China’s labour force of 776 million people is equal in size to the entire combined population of the U.S. and the E.U. (excluding that of U.K’s).
A McKinsey’s estimate puts China’s affluent, upper middle class, and mass middle class of urban households at 9%, 54% , and 22% respectively by 2022.
Base on the World Bank, China’s urban population has already reached 59% of its total population in 2018. With projected growth at 2.6%, and by 2022, China’s urban households would exceed 65% of its population, or 915 million people. That is about one and a half times the size of the combine population of America (327 million), the Western Europe (195 million) and Northern Europe (105 million).
In other words, by 2022 China would have a middle class society that would be comparable in size to the entire population of western democracies combined!
This feat in the elevation of the livelihood, liberty, freedom, and the creation of happiness for its citizenry is indeed unprecedented. It is inarguably the greatest achievement in the history of humanity.
Little wonder that based on Edelman.com Trust Barometer, China scores the highest amongst the 26 Global sample nations. The trust indices (which measure the level of trust the citizens have towards their respective governments) are classified under two broad categories of the populace: the general population, and the informed public.
The scores are rated in three levels. A score of 60-100 denotes the people trust their government; the score of 50 - 59 means neutral; and below the score of 49, it suggests distrust.
For 2019, the trust index of the Chinese people towards their government had actually improved to 79 from 74 observed in the previous year amongst its general population. In the case of the informed public, the score of 88 is 5 points higher than in the corresponding period of the previous year.
By contrast, the U.S. government scores a low 49 and 60 respectively in the 2019 survey.

We cannot depend on US anymore, US policy is always for its own benefits and sacrifice others.
What's the point when the rest of the countries kept listening to US and in the end feed it to become an overgrown greedy and selfish giant.π
Europe should form their own alliance in defence and discard NATO, else Europe will forever be in the hands and mercy of US.
Just look at Germany natural gas supply, even US Senators can introduce legislation to sanction Nord Stream 2 pipeline project between Germany and Russia. π
So a US senator can challenge other country's PM and president in their decision, what about its pentagon top officers and CIA?. US president would be GOD than? π±
