Here is the thing that I find revealing. When Hubei was the epicenter, it was locked down but people all over China sent food, gears, medical supplies to help that province. Tens of thousands of medical staff went to Wuhan to help curbing the disease. But when Italy was hit, the EU not only didn't help, but slapped a fine onto the Italy gov for assisting its touring businesses. No country in the EU provided resources to Italy, let alone medical supplies.

They say free market gives you freedom and socialism means dictatorship. I don't know about how they came up with that belief, but from what actually happened, I'd say free market makes you vulnerable, while socialism strikes the right balance where the greed of private investors and big corporations are suppressed in exchange of the freedom of mind that when one is in need, others are willing to help, not for a profit, but for humanity.
