All empires come to an end sooner or later.  The US 'empire' is on the cusp of failing due to over extension in the military sphere both territorially and financially to the detriment of investment in home industry and infrastructure and also waning International reputation due to unreliable adherence to agreements and application of trade sanctions.  Desperation is evident in the accelerated rate of attempts to destabilise other countries and to hinder competition by all and any means, mostly illegal.  The very great concern is that blinded by their desperation to attempt to maintain a position of dominance they will make a miscalculation and cause major military conflict, which could escalate to the unthinkable.
