China and Japan had warming bilateral relations in 2018 and held a security dialogue on February 1 in Beijing. Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe pledged he will further expand the already improving ties with China. But he added Japan still needs to bolster its defense capability amid concerns about Chinese military activity and uncertainty over the DPRK's denuclearization. How should people interpret this mixed message? How can the two countries build greater mutual trust? As long as Japan remains an OCCUPIED NATION (aka. a self-governed American colony), it's hard to see any level of real cooperation or coordination between China and Japan. Of course, it is pragmatic to keep the mutual ties from going south further.

East Asia should become the center of world trade and a fortress against American meddling. Besides, Japan belongs in China's sphere.
