The focus for final day of the Munich Security Conference 2019 is on the Middle East, with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif taking to the podium. A clash between the US and Europe was already in evidence the day before, when US Vice President Mike Pence demanded that the EU to follow Washington's lead and pull out of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal. Pence accused Europe of undermining US sanctions. Amid the growing divide between the US and Germany, Chancellor Angela Merkel defended the Iran agreement as a key channel to Tehran and stressed the need for international diplomacy. DW Talks with political scientist Ian Bremmer, president of the Eurasia Group.

Why is America obsessed with Iran?

Iran is far more democratic than Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar or most other Middle Eastern Countries.
Iran may be a sponsor of terrorism but as we saw in Kashmir and with Osama bin Laden, so is Pakistan. Why no pressure on Pakistan?

I'm starting to think this feud has little to do with democracy, freedom, and terrorism.

I hope most of the world does understand that 70% of Americans agree with Merkel and are completely disgusted with our leadership here in America!!!! Trump is a mishap in a flawed electoral system called "electoral college" anyone that isn't familiar with it ,look it up! Hillary Clinton got more than 2 million more votes and only about 34% of Americans support our current president and even less support these policies

Pence is so full of it. The European Union will not be fooled by the U.S. any longer. Good job, U.N. and hearing their speeches are great. The intelligence comes from Europe, not the U.S. anymore with Trump at the helm. People need to be informed and listen to the speeches of other countries and hear their perspectives,  not just the Republican perspective about these matters. Republican rule just want to bully and force their own agenda without a care or concern for the rest of humanity. Shameful.
