As world leaders gather in Buenos Aires for the G20 summit, Chinese President Xi Jinping is scheduled to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump on Saturday. But given the strained trade relationship between the two countries, what might the meeting actually achieve?

There are currently some 350,000 Chinese students in America, over 30 times as many as there are U.S. students in China. Why is there such a huge disparity? Does this lead to information asymmetry between what the Chinese know of America and Americans know about China? What impact might it have on the bilateral relationship?
