I surely miss him as well as the rest of them. I sure wish Hollywood could bring back that style of entertainment . But with all the politics and crudeness there isn't any family entertainment anymore. I believe that ship has sailed and I was so blessed to have witnessed it and better for it. Thanks for all the good times memories and laughs. You were the best.

At 15 years old, in 1968, I finally had saved enough to get a record player. The very first album I bought: Dean Martin --Welcome to my World. Still have it.
As a really longtime fan of Dino, thanks so much for the excellent bio, Jerry. One of your best.

Nobody ever deserved success more than Dean Martin. From everything I know, he was a beautiful person. He was very influential in breaking down the racial barriers in entertainment.

I followed Dean at the Crosby Golf Tourney in 1960. He stepped on my foot, and apologized. He pretended to have a terrible hangover, every time he pulled his ball out of the cup. Great entertainer!!! And nice guy in real life. Mike

I grew up near Steubenville,Ohio and we all love Dino When Dino was supposed to tour with Frank Sinatra and bowed out a very good friend of mine told me he was walking down Fourth Street (main drag in Steubenville) and a Limo pulled to the curb and as he walked by he thought for sure he saw Frank Sinatra get out so he abruptly turned around and quickly caught up with the Man,,,AND it really was Frank Sinatra. My friend said he knew that Dino had bailed out and they were supposed to be in nearby Pittsburgh that night. As he walked along with Frank,,Frank told him that he had promised Dino that he would run down to nearby Steubenville and walk up Fourth Street to where the Capital Ballroom had been above the Capital Theatre for old times sake as they had both sang there with the Tommy Dorsey band years before. The Limo had come back around and Frank told my friend it was nice talking to him and seeing where the Capital Ballroom had been,,there is a Firestone Tire store there now.

Very well done! I remember Dean's show, him pretending to be drunk and singing " Everybody loves somebody sometimes". A great actor/singer.

Dean Martins first wife "betty" died of a broken heart. She never got over her love for Dean. Dean Martin said of his first wife just before he died that "she loved me before I was Dean Martin"

He was a true legend, giant. He died of lung cancer. Score one more for a legal killer, taxed by the government so it can continue killing.

Dean came across as a man who would love his kids...he seemed like a nice person. The rest is life and choices. Thanks Jerry Skinner for your superb interpreting skills.

Thanks so much for video of Dean Martin. Well done. When I was a kid growing up, we watched Dean's show every single week. My mom was sick, though, when Dean and Jeannie got a divorce. She thought Dean might live to regret it, and it appears that is what happened. What a shame.
