Anya Parampil reports on blowback from metals tariffs, specifically Ford’s $1 billion loss in profit that could lead to layoffs of up to 24,000 workers. Richard Wolff, Professor Of Economics & International Affairs and Co-Founder of “Democracy at Work” joins the show to explain why Trump’s “America first” policies are resulting in losses for US workers.

Well the DJIA dropped +800 points today. Does that count as a crash?
If the Chinese aren't stupid, they would be pulling their money out of Murica. Murica has sanctioned Russia, Iran, Venezuela, etc. It won't be long until Murica starts sanctioning China and Chinese citizens. Then Murica will start seizing Chinese assets held in Murica and Murican banks.
If the Chinese were smart, they would have never trusted Murica in the first place.

United States sold the country a long time ago, this is what happens when you choose profit over the people, your politicians should be held fully accountable for the downfall of the United States. the people at the top continue to profit while everybody at the bottom continues to struggle. When will the masses learn, I guess when they let the politicians turn the United States into a third world country welcome to capitalism American where citizens try the wealthy like God's.

corp.,bankers, millionaires, and wall street have been controlling politics and the economy for years under both parties rep and dems. in the last crash we lost our homes, retirements funds, and 401k. instead of putting them in jail we reward them by giving them tax cuts and deregulation so they can do it again. And we put them in Washington. we are so brainwashed

To answer the question being asked in the Title of this video : NO America has been headed toward a crash since 2008 when the bankers were paid off and new bubbles were formed and as usual fake bubbles are busting. Since the bankers didn't get the war they needed in Syria because of Putin's cool head, they have no place to pin the blame on for the coming crash they will pin it on Trump. I am not saying Trump is not making mistakes I am saying the failing economy and hundreds of companies filling for bankruptcy and millions of lay offs started during the Obama era.

Trumps a businessman, he knows what he's doing. This political globalist commentator has no clue, he's just a fear monger. The U.S already is hemorrhaging 800 billion a year. Couldn't get any worse. China needs the U.S much more then we need them.

There are some naive people commenting who thinks that we can have a win-lose situation with every country in the world when it's a matter of balance. You win some you lose some and try to stay balanced. And while Trump is at war with everybody they're finding other countries to produce the goods that the United States was producing for them which means we're losing our exports and a lot of jobs.

It's funny hearing anyone argue to continue a deal that is one sided to your trade partner to the tune of Billions of dollars. Since Wolffe thinks this is such a good deal put your money where your mouth is and give me the one sided deal where I get Billions of surplus and you do not. Completely ignorant. No one getting such a favourable deal will ever negotiate. That means there is only one reasonable outcome. China is simply whining because they thought they could keep bleeding their trade partner.
China is not ready to be a super power. They cannot even rule their own country without use of human rights violations and otherwise censoring all independent thought and action. The fact they try to keep all their garbage in house does not mean it does not take place. It further demonstrates that they would rather continue down this path than make real changes to liberate their people from the insane dictatorship. The only person that enjoys any dictatorship is the individual who gets the role of ruling. That is not life, that is a prison built in the open, built on selfish rules for the prolonging of a single person. They dictate the terms you can "live" by or they "remove you" at their sole discretion without so much as a notice.
They are so warm to all other nations, that they would rather build their own "China town" is every damn location they can to make it clear they have no thought for any other than themselves. No other nation on earth is that ignorant and disrespectful. Yet they continue to silence anything other than their "approved garbage" on their own soil. There is clearly no respect of any other nation or their culture.
This is the True reflection of the leaders of China and not necessarily those of the majority public, after all they are not the ones with the deep pockets to fund all of this. China also keeps their banking system completely separate from other banking institutions, which leads me to ask why and what are they hiding they do not want others to know about!?
For the record not an American citizen either. China towns should be banned and broken up world wide. It is an outrage they think they can slime their way into a majority position slowly. It is nothing more than a clever ploy to undermine sovereignty by establishing a community within an established sovereign nation. Modern colonization. China seems to think they can dictate to the world as they want without repercussions. China has much more to lose and no longer can hide in the shadows out of sight. They wanted center stage so they got it and now they are in the cross hairs. How can they rule anything when they cannot even eliminate the problems their own people face at home? They have no vision for the future, nothing that will last anyways. They built their foundation upon the sand and the storm is coming apparently.

China is hurting for U.S Dollars that is why the want this trade war to end so badly. Everytime you buy something here in the U.S it say (Made in China). Those jobs being cut by Ford is because their cars and trucks is plagued with electrical problems and the warrant doesnt cover it.

I don't know really know the facts. Richard Wolff could be exaggerating - maybe not. But Wolff analysis doesn't take into account that tariffs are paid to the US government. And the money goes to pay for or The Wall and The Military build-up. The trade balance with China can't continue - America has to start producing products.

What needs to be considered is the time factor...yes initially; the US is destined to take a hit, but the Chinese economy has already taken a major economic hit...If we begin to restore our own steel and aluminum producing capabilities, we won't need to buy from the Chinese/Japanese
