China-Australia relations, after some twists and turnovers last year, seem to be moving back on track. Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull delivered a speech earlier this month that welcomed “China’s remarkable success”. So what's on the horizon for bilateral ties? And if the two countries manage to normalize ties, what lesson can be drawn? Geoff Raby, Former Australian Ambassador to China from 2007-2011 joined The Point.

On the 4th anniversary of Chinese President Xi Jinping calling for a convergence of China's media, how are news habits changing? What exactly has President Xi's proposed "convergence of traditional media and new media" brought to China's media scene? And what does it mean to the general public and media professionals? Being tied to the US it was significant  on;y because the US was significant in Asia.  Declining US  leave Austr in a dilemma -  stay white or truly become multiracial. I think Turnbull has to be a typical politician and pacify those more far right side of his society or he will be ousted like Kevin Rudd. Effects of years of White Australia policy cannot be undone overnight but I think there is hope for Australia yet.
